Farm Update - with Photos

What’s been happening around the farm lately? The most current news is that we’ve had quite a few lambs recently. I’m not sure any of us quite knew the extent of the fence-line visiting happening between Bruce and the ewes. (Lesson learned, keep Bruce away from shared fences in future!)

Our ram and ewes had some unsanctioned visits at the fenceline, resulting in some earlier than planned lambs.

To our great sadness, we lost both of our barn kitties, Higgins and Tucker, within a few months of each other last year. We really miss their presence and sweet natures. Since then, we’ve adopted Lucy, and then Alex and Eddie. Lucy has claimed Denny as her human. She hangs out in Denny’s workshop and follows him around while he works.

Alex and Eddie are still goofy kittens and don’t stray far from the barn… yet. Eddie has a strong purr and doesn’t mind being gently picked up. Alex prefers not to be handled much, but will take advantage of a lap if he sees one.

We’ve got lots of branches and a few trees down from the winter storms. The ground is pretty saturated and the creek is rushing.

So, that’s the latest! We’ve got fences to fix, seeds have been started in the greenhouse, and we’re getting ready for a busy hosting season. Can’t wait to see you!
